If you want to work in a Call Center environment--don't work at Brighthouse Networks. I worked there for some time and actually forgot what it was like to work at a normal place. It is run like a prison. You cannot have a personal life, make appointments, be a minute late or go out to lunch. If you need to go to the restroom you best take it 15 minutes only a week or you will hear about it.
They are not legally allowed to do that but they will try and enforce it. They will use you as long as they can and take advantage of your kindness and volunteering but should you have any personal issues or get sick you will see behind their smiles and visages. Every day I thank god for my new job and supervisor. I thought this was only happening in my office and feel that it certainly couldnt be the policy and procedures for all BH divisions and dont know who to complain to , our General Manger or vice pres doesnt care when you have a valid complaint he always replies " if you dont like your job we can find you another position or maybe another company to work for " instead of addressing the concern and issues , Its hopeless to have anyone in local divison to listen or even care.

I am currently working for the past 2 years at BHN in Customer Care in Maitland and it has been mostly a good experience but I must admit that there is a lot of favoritism, supervisors favor certain people over others and managers definitely favor certain supervisors over others particularly if they are pretty females in customer care. This manager is either your best friend or a total nightmare there is no middle ground, and since he is extremely partial to slim trim attractive girls that rules out most of the center, this guy goes around the center having these girls calling him daddy and he really looks out for them.
Although people have complained about his comments, and conduct to HR there has yet to be anything done about it and I doubt that anything will, again because of favoritism.
His problem with the super. I haven't worked there in over 2 years and things are still so much the same! I think I know who you're talking about when you say the "weasal. I had no idea that he's racist. I do recall him being very sly though. He would sneak around and spy on my team and I too even tho we reported directly to one of the managers.

This "weasel" that people keep referring to is creepy to say the least. He sneaks around all the time and from the rumors in the office, seems to have a very "personal" relationship with some of his female supervisors. Again, these are rumors so who knows. I do know that he is indeed very creepy and cannot be trusted.
There is an extreme amount of favortism that goes on with this company. Upper management does nothing about it because they are all friends as well. It is really quite nauseating. Not only is this job horrible, but on top of that we are micromanaged and treated like we are in preschool. The employees are in no way appreciated but of course we are expected to do an "awesome" job for the customer all the time.
It doesnt matter if the customer is screaming like a maniac and calling you every name in the book. We are supposed to be robots and not let it affect us and do what they say anyways. Its gotten really out of hand overall. The customers already know that if they yell, curse, and whine enough they will get what they want anyways. They forgot that on the other line is a person too. I am tired of sitting around seeing all these supervisors gossiping about stupidities and joking around, while the there are calls waiting and the agents are taking calls non stop.
But of course, God forbid you take a 5 minute break to calm down. You will hear about it eventually. I understand if they were doing actual work but they don't. And that is the reason they like their position.
So they can be lazy and do nothing all day. And in reply to Arnandos post, yes they were plotting to get rid of this sup for months. They pulled out all the dirty tricks in the book to get rid of him and in the end, he got let go for something that he tried to help a certain female sup with.
Of course, this was all planned. You see this sup is weasels favorite girl I really wonder if they have a soul. Although i would like to keep my job because i make just enough not to leave my position. As i realize im only a small "pawn" and im sure all cable companies are just as greedy but i wouldnt be complaining except the situation is getting worse. It's hard to express when directors literally think they know everything.. The worst part is HR is SOO disconnected they would only polish the poorly made ideas presented by the people that are in a higher pay scale, and this isnt bright house this is just how the world works.

I have applied for multiple jobs with the company in the past 18mo. I have many years of experience in the cable industry and the education as well, I'm actually working on my BA. I don't get why I haven't even been called for an interview with all the experience I have. It leads me to believe that BHN does not hire through there web.
